Whats been going on?
Well we’re all systems go again at the salon, recently appointed our fifth
barber, Tom Harris, who is fitting in just nicely and I predict a great future for
him. The other guys are working their socks off, Clark is starting to plan his year
ahead of competitions, Kate is ploughing her way through her level three
qualification in hair and Kieran, commonly known as ‘Canada’ is getting stuck
into his level three barbering. So as you can tell, we never rest on our laurels
and are always looking to invest in our staff and push our boundaries of
knowledge and skill sets.
As I’ve previously mentioned in my last blog, I got a new camera, yes I’m still
out photographing anything and everything that moves, but something made
me chuckle when a conversation with Mike Taylor turned to what camera you
got? I’m thinking of getting one too! Camera geeks that’s what we are! Ha ha
ha!!
We also decided that it was time to launch ourselves into videos, so after
several long discussions and many brain storming sessions, we finally decided
on what wanted to do, a video to demonstrate what we do in the salon on a
daily basis, starting with a shave video and then progressing to different cuts,
all by different members of the team.
Kieran was up first, the wet shave. We really wanted to do something
different, but still wanted our retro feel, so rather than simply film a video then
cut it to a suitable viewing length, we decided on photographs, in fact over two
thousand of them, to be processed in to a short film, yes loads of work. Got to
admit the end result was pretty much how we had planned it to be, yes we
know what needs to be improved on, but it was our first attempt and bloody
good too.
Here is the end result, play it back and enjoy.
So what’s new with Hairbond?
Well a couple of new products on the way and 50ml pots about to be
launched. As a lot of you may be aware, Hairbond is also available through
Capital and Aston and Fincher now, broadening your chances of trying out the
rapidly growing styling range, I’m pretty confident that once you’ve tried it you
will want to use it and stock it in your own salons.
Right, that’s enough of me now, time to get back and use those barber skills
again, until next time, adios!!
