Its that time again, blog update time.

Well what have I been up to?

Where do I begin?

It has been a manic past few months, Salon international, BBA network event, watching Simon Shaw up-close, Hairbond artistic team events, a visit to see Mike Taylor, a Barber council meeting, the NHF’s Britain’s best, various teaching sessions and even a little stage work, happy days spreading my passion for the industry. Mix all this in with my normal day to day life of being a husband, father, employer and running a hectic and busy barbershop, I can definitely say I need more hours in the day.
All that said, I wouldn’t change a thing.

One of my personal favourite events has been demonstrating Flat-tops to the local training provider, taking people out of their comfort zone, using freehand techniques. Will this haircut make a big appearance in the barbershop, who knows?? Get yourself prepared if it does.

I also had the chance of showcasing what the Hairbond artistic team have to offer to the industry, on stage with my friends, Lynndy Rolfe and Artistic Director Chris Moon, we gave the audience the opportunity to see what we’re about, unfortunately Jon Bourne couldn’t make an appearance, but Jamie Roberts took the baton and didn’t let us down. It was great to see us all together, each time we all meet up it truly is good fun and inspiring.

I decided earlier this year I would have a go at putting a collection together to put in to the NHF’s Britain’s best photographic competition, lots of hard work, from myself and Neal Reed, the only photographer I use, and a couple of months later, it was complete! ‘MUGSHOTS MOST WANTED’ was ready, in an envelope and posted off.
Unfortunately they never made the final three, but it has only inspired me to better myself. Congratulations to Micheal Damiano on winning and Dan Rix too.

Right time to go again, theres a big queue forming again, speak soon.
