British Barber of the Year back for 2018
The cream of British barbering will once again get its chance to shine with the launch of this year’s British Barber of the Year competition.
Hosted annually by the British Barbers’ Association (BBA) with support from Andis, BBA male grooming range and Booksy, the competition aims to find out who truly is the best of the best when it comes to the UK’s barbering scene.
Open to all BBA members, entrants must submit three photographs featuring different models and demonstrating their abilities in fading, flattops and creativity by 29 March 2018.
A shortlist of just 8 semi-finalists will then by chosen by a panel of the BBA’s top judges to compete live at Barber UK, Birmingham NEC, on Monday 21 May 2018.
The two highest scoring finalists will then go head-to-head in the BBA’s very own boxing ring showcasing their creative cutting skills to be crowned British Barber of the Year 2018.
As well as the coveted title, the winner will receive the prestigious BBA British Barber of the Year belt, £2000 and men’s grooming products worth £500. The runner-up will also receive a BBA plaque and £500 worth of products.
Trevor Studd, BBA Business Development Director said ‘The British Barber of the Year is now the premiere competition for men’s hairdressing and barbering in the UK, and some of the past winners of the title have gone on to be the best known and most respected barbers in the business. It’s a fantastic opportunity for anyone out there who thinks they have the skills to give their career a massive boost and be recognised by their industry and peers.
Entry is open to all BBA members. Cost of entry is free, as is membership of the BBA for those not already members.
